OUR PROCESS
Project Courage takes an individualized approach to opioid addiction treatment in CT. Our programs address substance use and co-occurring mental health needs, with care recommendations based on each client’s circumstances. Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) provide medication services to enrolled clients alongside other care; medication management is not offered as a standalone service. We also use experiences such as relapse to inform prevention planning rather than automatically dismissing clients.

LEARN MORE
Can I receive opioid addiction treatment while living at home?
Project Courage offers outpatient and in-home programs. Whether either option is appropriate depends on your clinical needs. If you’re concerned about withdrawal or need medical stabilization, discuss that before choosing an outpatient program.
Can medication be part of my care?
Medication is an established treatment option for opioid use disorder. Project Courage has APRNs who provide medication services to enrolled clients alongside other care; medication management is not offered as a standalone service. Ask the team which opioid-specific medication options are available and appropriate for you.
How long does opioid addiction treatment last?
Treatment frequency and duration are individualized. A clinician will discuss recommendations with you at intake and revisit them during treatment.
Can my family participate?
Family members and significant others are welcome to participate. Their involvement in your treatment is your decision. Our separate Family Services also provide guidance for loved ones. For more on their role, explore our article about family support in addiction recovery.
Where is Project Courage located?
Our address is 130 Elm Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475. We provide services exclusively in Connecticut. Contact us to discuss which services are available for your location.
What if an overdose is suspected?
Call 911 immediately and give naloxone if available. An opioid overdose requires emergency medical attention; do not wait for a response to a treatment inquiry.
